Meet the Therapists at PPI

Rosalie Laurenti |
Rosalie has been at PPI since
1990, has an M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling from Xavier University and is a
Licensed Professional Counselor. She has specialized abilities in helping
persons deal with chronic and acute illness having worked in a hospital
setting for twenty years. She is skilled and experienced helping individuals
and families handle loss and grief.
Life transitions, anxiety and depression, marital
issues, and the particular problems of children and adolescents are also
ably addressed by Rosalie. She is a firm believer that persons committed to
receiving help can change and transform their lives. This belief is undergirded
by her personal spirituality. Finally, she brings to our increasingly
diverse culture the special ability of being fluent in six languages. |

Harv is a Pastoral Counselor who is licensed as a Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio. He has been affiliated with PPI since 2003. Harv is experienced in working with people from a wide variety of faith groups and spiritualities, as well as those without a particular faith identity. He is gifted in assisting people in making use of their values and spiritual interest in the healing and growth process of counseling. Harv strives to engage people with non-judgmental unconditional positive regard, empathy, and understanding, while being genuine and centered. His counseling style is collaborative, strength based, and goal oriented.
Harv is competent in several clinical areas and has special interests in working with individuals who want to be free from addictions, compulsions, or unhealthy habits, and those who want to better manage anger, depression, and anxiety. Harv provides alcohol and drug assessments for adolescents and adults and is experienced providing counseling to those facing legal problems. He also has special interest in working with couples preparing for marriage and those wanting to make changes in their relationship.

Virginia Hewan |
Virginia has been a staff member at PPI since 2006, and holds the State of Ohio, Licensed Professional Counselor license (LPC). Virginia is competent in a number of clinical areas and works with individuals, couples, adolescents, and adults of all ages who are dealing with difficult life transitions. Virginia has worked with women, men, adolescents in the prison system. A Methodist, she works in prison ministry with her church.
She holds master’s degrees from Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH: M. Ed. Agency & Community Counseling (1995), Master of Science degree, Criminal Justice (1997). She completed the post-master’s endorsement program in Clinical Counseling at Xavier University (2003). She is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA). Virginia has over 20 years of experience working in university systems advising students in educational programs. She has been an adjunct faculty member at several local universities teaching cultural diversity and criminal justice.
