Licensures:

The State of Ohio provides licensure for several categories of mental health worker. We have three of these categories at PPI.

Licensed Social Workers must have a degree in process and pass an exam.

Licensed Professional Counselors have a degree in counseling, 4,500 hours of supervised counseling, and may supervise counselors.

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors have additional coursework and clinical expertise and may supervise counselors.

Certifications:

The American Association of Pastoral Counselors certifies three levels of membership. All require Master's level education and ongoing connection and service to a denomination or faith body.

Members have performed at least 375 hours of counseling and can provide counseling under supervision.

Fellows have an additional thousand counseling hours, and additional degree and can provide counseling and supervised supervision.

Diplomates are certified nationally as representing the highest qualifications of Pastoral counseling and supervision.

Professional Affiliates have a graduate degree in counseling and are licensed in one of the mental health disciplines.
