PPI's counselors who are familiar with church ministry and others who have served in church settings themselves are available for individual consultation on an hourly basis. Periodic consultation is one important component of the continuing education for church leaders. It serves to get an unbiased perspective to hone counseling skills and to get help with difficult situations or people. Parish leaders often feel that they are alone in the "lion's den." Four of our counselors have chosen to make themselves available to parishes for consultation and training. They work either individually or in pairs. They are equipped to help pastors, pastoral staff, and church communities with interpersonal skills and problem solving. Our experienced counselors integrate spirituality with psychology, which can effectively support parish staff and congregations in developing an understanding of themselves and their ministry. PPI counselors can effectively facilitate team meetings, staff retreats, congregation events and workshops.
